Projects

  • 2019-2021: OMULUNZI IVR system for livestock farmer, Funded by the Ministry of ICT, Uganda Government.
  • 2016: Online Learning Platform for Uganda PPDA Unit, funded by Uganda PPDA Unit
  • 2014- 2016: Cordinator, Module content development for the Applied Computer Science Program, by the Africa Virtual University. I coordinated 30 lecturers from across Africa to develop online modules in French, English and Portuguese languages. Funded by the African Development Bank.
  • 2011 – 2016: In partnership with the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, this project was on using e-learning to train Masters students in Health informatics. Funded by the Fogarty International.

2014 – 2015: Project leader on the project to train Vocational and Technical Institutions in Uganda in ICT skills, funded by OPEC through the Ministry of Education, Government of Uganda

  • 2013: Innovation Specialist on the ResilientAfrica Network which is a a network of 25 universities in Africa that was building resilience using university innovations. Funded by USAID.
  • 2012 – 2014: Team leader on the project on Data generation and language technology for low-resourced African languages. Funded by Google.
  • 2012 – 2013: Team leader on project to Compare software usability between Rukiga and English languages. Funded by CoCIS, Makerere University
  • 2010: Team leader on the project of using image processing techniques to diagnose fungal skin diseases. Funded by NUFFIC.
  • 2011: An award winning project on Translation of VLC into Rukiga. Funded by NUFFIC. It won an award by Uganda Communications Commission.
  • 2010: An award winning project Translating the Google interface into Runyakitara. Funded by NUFFIC. It won an award by CIO East Africa.
